I found that a Buddhist understanding of Christianity fits nicely within a Mahayana framework. While it is possible that Christianity could be reconciled with Mahayana in the manner that Japanese Shinto was in the formation of Tendai Buddhism, Christians would need to acknowledge that Jesus and God are not distinct, separate, and differentiated from the natural universe and subject to karma.
Most Christians I know of simply cannot accept this acknowledgement. Maybe some do though. I know there are many theories on what and where Jesus Christ was during his life before his ministry, including living in India and studying Hinduism and Buddhism, and brought some of these teachings back with him, and incorporated them into his own doctrines.
I see no reason to doubt this theory, but there are not really any good evidences that support it, either.

I was wondering if anyone else here had any thoughts on the subject. Supposing there is a plausibility of this, it would require that the character of Jesus and Buddha as well have been accurately portrayed. Personally however, I have my doubts due to the diametrically opposing descriptions involving the characteristics and manner with comparing Jesus and the Buddha together.
